Band Of Holy Joy release an Easter special limited release double CDr. Electric Songs Of Faith And Devotion comprises a very early electronic band set recorded in the crypt of a London church circa Easter 1983 and a second set of brand new songs based around life, faith and death in London today. 60 copies + additional 30 copies.

"Thank you for your immense patience. I'm happy to say that God Speed and God Willing the Electric Songs of Faith and Devotion CDR is bagged and in the postal system on its way to you. We spent the Easter period writing and recording for it, and then a few days mastering, and finally collating and packaging the artefact here. It's done!
Be warned, there are crackles on here, loud nasty intended crackles sometimes but through the static the Joy should hopefully flow right for you. Whatever was in our heads and in our faces, our memories, visions, dreams over Easter of 2018 is all in here. There are too many words at times drowning out the music but maybe a sense of information overload prevails in general these days and has filtered it's way on to here.
What started out as a distant memory of an Easter time gig we once played in a crypt of a church in Central London where the vicars top boy, (would he be termed the Curate?) invited Max back to his private quarters for a speed and vodka session which would involve both parties trying on a rubber dress became the basis / inspiration for this double CDR. The Myth side relates directly to this and contains selections from two very intoxicated Band Of Holy Joy performances that took place in a different kind of place of worship. You will know all but one of these songs here. The one you don't know is a crazed beauty. Both set of songs are culled from the collection of Mr Tim Melia.
Media is all brand new Joy and relates to nothing but now.
The tracks were mainly recorded at Bark and Peter's strictly mono one track Dogtunnel studio with some pre-recording done at James's. Mastering and collating was done very loudly at Trace. The other voice countering mine on the text based pieces is by Mr Gary Chaplin of the band Quarterlight, and was recorded in the Pitmans Parliament in Redhills Durham, so apologies if it has a slight Arthur Scargill on Amyl Nitrate feel to it. The packaging pays direct homage to our early cassette releases and is lo fi in the extreme, and hand burned with love care and diligence I must say.
